Steven is a board member and composer-in-residence with Opéra Queens, an opera company based in Toronto and Montréal. OQ re-imagines operatic repertoire and commissions new works that queerify, gender-bend, and prioritize queer and IBPOC artists.
Steven co-directs Fast Forward Austin, presenting new and innovative music to the Austin community. FFA offers an eclectic mix of cutting-edge, genre-bending music that fearlessly straddles the boundaries of pop, classical, and experimental music.

ABR is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of unwanted English Bulldogs, education of owners on responsible dog ownership, and education of the public on the English Bulldog breed. Steven and Freddie have fostered and rescued Ed and Mabel, desperate, emergency cases from ABR, adding to their rescue-dog family of Angus and Evie.
